Andrew Harrison Managing Director Our experienced on-site team and contractors incorporate people with the entire range of specialist skills required to repair a vessel. The range and depth of the team includes designers, draughtsmen, engineers, marine refrigeration specialists, shipwrights, welders, electrical and mechanical fitters, grit blasters, aluminium fabricators, painters, instrument technicians and electronic, amongst many other areas of skills available to us locally. We are proud of our loyal staff, many of whom have been with us since we opened our shipyard. Without them we would be just another shipyard - with them we have become a leader in our field. We have similar long term relationships with many of our suppliers, enhancing our ability to deal with repairs quickly and efficiently. Tropical Reef Shipyard has a 100m, 3000 tonne capacity slipway catering for a wide variety of vessel types. As the largest slipway north of Brisbane, Australia and one of the largest in the Pacific, when combined with our deep water berths and outfit/repair wharves, we are able to cater to many different size vessels. In addition to the large slipway, the shipyard also has a floating dock facility capable of docking vessels up to 350 tonnes. This allows for slipway or afloat repairs of vessels. The yard is fully equipped with Cranes up to 100 tonnes, Elevated Work Platforms, Commercial Spray Machines, Water Blasters up to 40,000psi and workboats to 3 tonne bp to assist with vessel movements, amongst many other industry specialised equipment. The full machine workshop includes repairs and rebalancing of propellers, which is carried out in-house. Our onsite store allows for the provision of essential stock items, which assists with a fast turnaround of vessels. Our experienced on-site team, and extensive network of more than 1500 proven, capable and quality assured suppliers and unlimited access to international marine support agencies, combined with our well equipped facilities, offer a comprehensive range of ship repair services. Lloyd’s and ABS approved, our tradesmen are effective in all areas ofship repair. Our well equipped facilities enable us to repair and refit vessels quickly and efficiently. We are able to meet customer schedules due to our ability to run 24 hours. All providoring services and accommodation requirements for ship’s crews are located centrally and can be arranged by Tropical Reef Shipyard as required. On-site, ship’s officers and crew can be provided with serviced conference and office facilities. |
