Rodney has lived and fished in barwon heads and surrounding areas all his life and has been taking clients fishing in bass strait since 1989. By providing you with good service, using first class equipment, providing fresh bait and making every effort to put you amongst the fish, we ensure a great day is had by all. Our boat departs from the pier near the mouth of barwon river which is approximately 250 metres south of the barwon heads bridge. Our Skipper Rodney Lawn has lived and fished in Barwon Heads and surrounding areas all his life. Rodney’s been taking his clients fishing into Bass Strait since 1989 and he’s learnt that by giving people good service, using first class equipment, providing fresh bait and making every effort to put his clients amongst the fish will ensure a great day is had by all. This is his aim and to him is the most satisfying aspect of his business. This ultimately builds loyalty amongst his customers whom have supported him in the last 19 years. Our customers come from all walks of life including politicians, sportsmen, tradesmen, fishing clubs, corporate groups and families. Just remember to bring sunscreen and appropriate clothing including hat and sunglasses on the day. Bring an eskie for your catch, which will be cleaned for you. We depart from the Queenscliff boat ramp. Shark Fishing Shark fishing trips may be arranged between December and April where we target: Mako Sharks, Thresher Sharks Blue and Bronze Whalers Snapper, Tiger Flathead, Barracouta, Squid and Gummies are frequently encountered whilst berleying for sharks. Snapper Although Snapper can be caught all year round in Bass Strait, by far the most productive times are Spring and Autumn for larger species (4-10kg), and Summer months for smaller Pinky Snapper. Gummy Sharks are also targeted while fishing for Snapper. Reef Fishing Catch fish like Snapper, Gummy, School and Seven Gill Sharks. Yellowtail Kingfish, King George Whiting, Trevally, Salmon, Calamari, Pike and Flathead are targeted at various times throughout the season. When fishing the shallow inshore reefs we carry a range of soft plastics for those interested in the challenge of lure fishing. Portland Tuna Southern Blue Fin Tuna are targeted from Portland in the months of May and June. Different prices apply for Tuna fishing, please ring to enquire. Equipment Quality is our top priority and to ensure this we only use top of the range rods and reels - Shimano and Penn. We have a wide range of rods and reels to suit every situation - from light 3kg spinning outfits to 37kg Shimano Tiagras for sharks and gamefish. The Boat Adamas III is a fully surveyed custom-built 30ft Centre Cab Charter Boat constructed from plate aluminium; the centrecab design ensures maximum fishing room and comfort. It is surveyed to carry 12 passengers and two crew in 2C Survey. Powered by twin Yamaha 200hp four stroke outboards, Adamas III is capable of getting to our favourite fishing spots in no time at all. |
