| The contemporary Australian-designed and built SPY BOATS was launched in July 2007. Within the first twelve months, SPY BOATS received its first award with the SPY RX22 wake boat taking out the prestigious “Ski Boat Of The Year” title at the 2008 AMIF (Australian Marine Industries Federation) Awards. This award is the third for PERFORMANCE MARINE, having been awarded the title in 2000 and 2003. Established in 1973, Peter Webb’s Performance Marine is renowned for its specialised custom engine installation and has sold all major brands of Australian and imported ski boats. Whittley Marine Group is one of Australia’s most admired and awarded boat manufacturers. The hulls are designed and manufactured at the Whittley Plant in Campbellfield and are the only Australian ski boats designed using industry-leading CAD technology. Performance Marine then takes over to completely fit-out and market the boats The SPY BOATS design team has created five different models on two hull lengths. Automotive design cues and the latest marine engineering technology have been integrated to give the boats a high-tech edge in both their sharp styling and the sophisticated construction that lies beneath. SPY BOATS are powered by Mercruiser (with most having the top-of-the-range Black Scorpion), ride on customised Easytow trailers and entertain with the very best Clarion audio systems. SPY BOATS are preparing to launch onto the international scene, utilising Whittley’s building facilities its plant in Willacooche (Georgia, US) where the Whittley Cruiser, Sea Legend and Clearwater ranges are being built and distributed throughout the US and Canada.
