Marine Education Society of Australasia

MESA provides a forum for the sharing of ideas to facilitate the development of leading environmental education and interpretation programs with a coastal and marine focus.

MESA also promotes the sustainable use of marine and coastal environments through education.

Currently, marine education is under represented in environmental education in Australia. With most Australians living by the coast, there is a lot of pressure on the marine environment. This combined with other global pressures, including pollution and over fishing, means that our seas are under threat!

Education is the key in raising awareness
to protect our coasts and oceans!

MESA has a newsletter not only to share the marine news but also to inspire and connect those with an interest or passion in marine and coastal issues. With Undercurrents, MESA members can read about marine projects, workshops, teaching ideas, resources and other marine and coastal education/conservation information.
Our newsletter "Undercurrents" is published online (as a pdf file) and we notify you by email when a new edition is available. No more paper and postage, just an active email notification and link to the latest edition.

As it's now easier than ever, to send photographs and text, please share, discuss and participate both on our website and for the Newsletter. Email us with your contributions.
