Bike Riding: Hindmarsh Island is a part of the great Encounter Bikeway. The Bikeway is an on-road and shared trail that links the coastal city of Victor Harbor and the river port town of Goolwa, via the coastal towns of Port Elliot and Middleton. The total distance of the bikeway is 30km. However, a range of riding distances is available, making it suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. The Bikeway can be used by cyclists, walkers, skaters, rollerbladers and is wheelchair accessible.

Whale Watching: Great lookouts and viewing platforms along the coastline to view these majestic mammals during the winter season.

Horse Riding: Horse riding for young and old.

Farms visits: Try strawberry farms, trout farms, deer parks, floral farms, beef cattle station or olive groves for a start.

National Parks and Reserves: A number nearby in which to hike, picnic or camp. These include the Coorong National Park, Deep Creek Conservation Park and Newland Head Conservation Park.

Or visit nearby coastal towns - Goolwa, Middleton, Port Elliot and Victor Harbor

Bird Watching: An on-going event - the region is an important breeding ground for a variety of native birds and migratory birds which can be viewed at different times of the year.

Groups: The Marina Hindmarsh Island is home to the Goolwa Rowing Club, Hindmarsh Island Rotary, TMHI Knitting Group and Hindmarsh Island Art Group whoall form a great part in lifestyle of The Marina.
